Everytime I hear politicians talking about bi-partisionship I figure they mean that the other person needs to give in. Let’s face it, if you are right you need to stand your ground. Compromise can sometimes be a good thing, I’ll admit but over my long life I have seen a lot of compromise that only made things worse.
I don’t like to argue so I usually just surrender completely.
Compromise is better than stall
It is according to what you are compromising on. Let’s just say you are discussing nuking a city. Compromise would mean just nuking part of the city.
No compromise might be just to blow it up with conventional bombs…ok that is bad too.
The point I am making is that sometimes there is no room for compromise.
Perhaps balanced would be a better approach. Weigh the good and the bad, and balance accordingly.
But most politicians are not balanced.
Makes you think about the old party line phones had.
Everybody knew everybody’s business then.
I’m almost always wrong, so fortunately it’s not usually an issue for me.
🙂
I think you are wrong about almost always being wrong.
